The Organ Factory

+ More

Set in an ecclesiastical organ factory built in the Victorian era this project involved the conversion of the existing building into a single family home set over four floors.
Whilst this reinvigoration involved much modernisation an emphasis was placed on retaining the building’s embellished features and details. This resulted in a series of refined contemporary spaces with discreet historical elements playfully celebrated in each room.
Prominence was given for the art curation and subsequently a large triple height space was created for the main living space, celebrating the alluring internal roof eves and eclectic artwork housed within.
Large windows were positioned where possible to maximise the penetration of natural light into the heart of the building whilst the new configuration also celebrated the smaller nooks and crannies of the house to keep a sense of child-like wonder and adventure.
