Martello Hall is a carefully crafted space in Hackney hailing back to a faded Edwardian blue collar elegance. The timeless remnants of the opulence of old are left bare for all to see and feel. The front bar, holding a small gin distillery and absinthe fountains is a veritable celebration of corrosion. The beer and wine flows from verdigris fonts on a beautifully oxidised bar made of reclaimed cast iron balustrades. A large wood oven and kitchen furnace warms the banquet hall’s walls and florentine windows. The first floor hosts a cocktail lounge to unwind in nicotined old-time refinement.
