Harley Street
Private house
London
This residential project coupled a Grade II listed property in central London with distinctive mid-century American styling. The layers of history begin with the property’s Portland Estate 1750s layout, which then underwent some alterations in early 19th century. Hints at Glaswegian style metalwork, Jacobethan mouldings and new-classical plasterwork make up a marriage of styles soaked in a palette of whites and greys, allowing the sharper lines of the furniture and brass fittings to shine - a veritable exercise in eclecticism.
