Gail's East Sheen

Bakery

London

+ More

Inspired by Parisienne bakehouses of old we were concerned with one thing in revitalising this compact site for Gail's Bakery – light. We created a metal framed sunburst façade with Weber Industries with a recessed porch and smart mosaic entrance. Internally a series of bespoke lights from the same maverick fabricators tapered in height and through Pantone shades creating a sense of playfulness. Pink tinted plaster walls and ash counters and handmade furniture topped off this joyful addition to Upper Richmond Road. Our Staffordshire Blue Quarry Tiled floor gave an external acoustic to the space and an amplified the sounds of the cosy twelve seater bakery. We looked within West London to find our suppliers of wicker baskets, reclaimed outside seating and planting.
